Let’s start with total transparency is that cool?
I’ve spent the last four week focusing on my habits in terms of overall health and fitness. I’ve been diligently planning my meals, practicing self love, focusing on mindset, and practicing some of my biggest health goals.
It’s been a process of getting to the root of some of my habits as well as my personal struggle with body image.
And I think it’s because of this focus that I’ve been asked A LOT about my thoughts on the newest program being released from Beachbody:
“80 Day Obsession”
Is it healthy to “obsess” over a workout?
Is it healthy to “obsess” over food choices?
A Little Honestly About My Views on Weight Loss:
The Elimination Experience I’ve been blogging about supports women through the process of living an overall healthy life. With the support of the virtual community and coaching, challengers were provided with meal plans, a fitness plan as well as as a wellness plan that pushes outside the comfort zone, busts past the plateaus, and helps combat the bigger issue of emotional eating.
I also want to note that the reason I created this Elimination Experience is because the overwhelming response to a post I did recently about yo-yo dieting. Women like me were coming forward sharing their struggles with the “diet” mentality. I too was struggling with the sugar triggers and it was negatively impacting my energy level.
For me and my challengers it was FINALLY about focusing not obsessing.
This was not a restrictive plan or intense workouts. This plan focused on the psychology of our weight struggles. It’s been about our mindset before we focus on the scale number.
Within one week of eliminating processed sugars and carbs I noticed a change in my weight but also in my mindset. I noticed that I had more energy, and my cravings weren’t as heavy as they had been. I know the difference between hunger and boredom, and I’ve had to really focus on the fact that I am an emotional eater. I picked up my journal and started documenting my physical and emotional progress. I started to write how I was feeling as well as some of the deeper issues I think I’ve been trying to mask with food.
Within two weeks, I noticed a chance in my skin, and within three weeks I saw asignificant difference in waistline.
But you know what was the best part of the experience?
Feeling like I had control of my food intake, instead of food having control over me.
Is Elimination the Same as the New Obsession Program?
I am not gonna lie…
I am kinda surprised by how many people have reached out to me about the idea of “obsessing”
I have to share this message I got and it just hit home. Does it resonate with you?
“Katy, thank you for the message about not obsessing. I felt a pit in my stomach last week when I saw the new program you are endorsing. I’ve been thinking about reaching out to you but I stopped myself when I saw a post you did. I’ve been obsessed, and it’s never gone well. I lose weight and then I gain it all back and I start to spiral. I am so tired of this cycle. I want to succeed but I don’t want to let this be another cycle. When I read your blog something hit home. My question is, can I do this program? Really?”-Amanda C.
My answer was simple. Yes.
But it’s not about obsessing. I don’t go there. I will be ADAMANT about that.
It’s about determining what you really want to gain. It’s about focusing on the work it takes to reach your outcome. It’s about making yourself a priority. And we can’t make it about weight. That’s my promise to my challengers.
Although we will intensify workouts, and focus on our nutrition. I want this to become habit for you, not an obsession.
Title aside, my job is to support you through the program with fitness, nutrition, accountability and mindset practices.
My goal as the coach is to help you lose weight as much as to help you gain, confidence and clarity.
My goal is to take away the desire to latch onto a fad, and help you grasp onto hard work and real solution.
I am not the coach for everyone.
I am the coach for those who are willing to work hard first on the headspace.
Because if we can conquer that…
That’s when we can really make shiz happen.
