Katy's Favorite Things!

GREAT TO GIVE AND RECEIVE
I know COLD weather is around the corner for a lot of us, and I usually hit up my favorite stores for some new hats and scarves, but I am actually gonna ask you to look at this instead.

So this non-prof sells the cutest hats, scarves and shirts. What I LOVE about this organization is that EVERY TIME YOU PURCHASE ONE, ONE IS ALSO GIVEN TO A CHILD WITH CANCER.
So instead of hitting up the mall and spending a ridiculous amount of money on just one hat, consider this.  CHECK IT OUT!
BUY ONE HAT>>>>YOU WILL AUTOMATICALLY GIVE ONE HAT to a little one battling cancer.

LOOKING FOR A LITTLE GET AWAY!?

Mike and I live about 2 hours from the quaint town of Bedford.  Nestled in the mountains is the Omni Bedford Springs Spa Resort. When I was first diagnosed, we decided to leave our worries behind and head to the healing springs in the Bedford Mountains. It's perfect for every season.  Get a massage or hike the trails.  In the spring and summer you can hit up the golf course.  It's not only beautiful, but the scent of the award winning spa immediately send you into relaxation mode.  The restaurants, the ambiance, and the service are like no other.  I highly recommend, but check for deals first!  Often, you can get amazing deals at www.groupon.com.  But check out their site here:  OMNI BEDFORD SPRINGS.   This is a great mommy daddy get away or a girl's weekend.

Change your Entire Look!

WANNA LOOK AND FEEL GOOD?

Two products that I swear by for the busy woman who needs to just freshin' up-
1.  Aquabrow -everyday use
2. Younique lashes- special occasions

When I was diagnosed with cancer  I was told I was going to lose all of my hair including my eyelashes and eyebrows.  Although in my case, I didn't lose all of my hair.  My eyelashes and eyebrows thinned.  These two products wildly change my look and are easy to use.

STITCHFIX

Dressed By Stitchfix
Alright- for the fashion impaired listen up!  Stichfix is the place to be.  I struggle in the fashion department.  It always seems to work for others but I need a personal assistant to give me some serious fashion advice!!!  Enter Stichfix.com!  Stitch Fix is the first fashion retailer to blend expert styling, proprietary technology and unique product to deliver a shopping experience that is truly personalized for you. Simply fill out the Stitch Fix Style Profile and the personal stylists will handpick a selection of five clothing items and accessories unique to your taste, budget and lifestyle. You can buy what you like and return the rest! I never would have picked this shirt but I LOVE it.  I love the fit and the style! Totally me!

MELISSA AND DOUG

This is the best site for educational gifts that my boys love.  The toys are all handcrafted and made in America.  These are the kinda toys that the boys never get bored with and they continue to play with year after year.  The pound and roll tower is one of our favorites.  I still catch Nick playing with it!

WORK IT OUT

Alright- Because you KNOW this is totally my jam I wanted to share some of my favorite workout gear as well as some of my favorite gifts to give and receive.  Sometimes I feel like there's this weird stigma for giving the gift of health for the holiday season.  I never really understood that.  If someone gave me a workout, I would be encouraged and excited to try something new!  This year people close to me will be receiving the gift of health.
Here are my favorites!

P90 Extreme programs like P90X aren't for everyone. So welcome to the all-new P90—your gateway to getting fit regardless of your age or fitness level! Legendary trainer Tony Horton has now created shorter workouts that are simple, doable, and less extreme than his others, but still just as effective. So whether you haven't worked out in a decade, or you're just looking to maintain what you've got, P90 opens the door for you to see dramatic, visible results in just 90 days!

My dad has 30 days left in his P90 journey and he is doing an amazing job.  It's the perfect workout for all fitness levels and all ages!  Stay tuned for his results!

Insanity Max:30

With INSANITY®, Shaun T gave you a year’s worth of results in only 60 days. And now, 5 years later, it’s time for INSANITY MAX:30—the hardest 30 minutes of your life. There’s no equipment needed; just push to your MAX and get insane results in 30 minutes a day.
In INSANITY MAX:30, the only thing standing between you and the body you want…is YOU. Every day you’ll push a little harder, go a little longer, and dig a little deeper. It’s not about finishing the workout—it’s about seeing how far you’ll go before you MAX OUT.

As for my workout gear there are a couple pieces that I swear by:

1.  Champion Sports Bras at Target.  They are inexpensive.  They are a great fit, and I can always on a red tag special.
Target Red Tag Specials are the Best!
2.  I havebeen going to ETSY and checking out the various deals there!  They are creative and an awesome fit from SHOP:  The FitnessTEE CO.
3.  Shoes are basic. Because my workouts are more a cross train style as opposed to running, I have found the flat shoe helps with some of my knee issues.   I love the Nike Women's Free 5.0 TR FIT PRT 4 Training Shoe
 4.  I received this wonderful fitness toy for my birthday and wanted to share it with you all!  It's a FITBIT and it's awesome.  It monitors your steps, your active minutes, and your sleep patterns.  I love that I can set a goal to get in 8,000 steps a day and can check those stats on my phone!  It's an awesome gadget to have!  Pretty sure someone I know will be getting this gift under the tree!
FITBIT!

The Leukemia and Lymphoma Foundation

is of course an organization very dear to my heart.  I know many people give gifts throughout the holidays, but sometimes giving the gift of charity in someone's honor is more amazing than anything found under the tree.

This foundation helps finacially and emotionally help families and their loved ones who have been diagnosed with blood cancers.  This year, our team, One Fit Fighter, raised over $10,000 for this organization.  We've set our goal high in 2015.  We've pledged to raise $50,000 to the cause!

If you would like to make a monetary donation to the organization, please go here.

I hope you enjoyed some of my holiday favorites!  Wishing you and your loved ones a holiday of health, happiness and all the blessings in between!

XOXO
